About Us
When my husband and I bought our home in Tucson, Arizona 30 years ago, little did we know what treasures were hidden in the old, brick shed and garage at the vacant house next door. Come to find out, this is the owner's childhood home, which he has maintained long after both his parent's passed away. Mom was a housewife and dad was a doctor with a strong entrepreneurial bent and a keen interest in ceramics. In the late 40s he opened a shop called "The Pottery Post", featuring the classic, California dinnerware of the era, made by Vernon Kilns. When he closed the shop in 1953, all the unsold inventory was moved to the family home where it has been stored, untouched, for the past 60 years. When we realized the value of these pieces, we obtained permission from the owner to offer this collection to those who can appreciate the timeless beauty of Vernonware. In addition to the dinnerware, we're also unearthing pieces by Roselane, U.S. Pottery, Kaye of California, Kipp Ceramics and many more still-to-be-identified items.
We're opening our shop with some of the rarer patterns - the beautiful, hand-tinted, Lei Lani designed by celebrated artist, Don Blanding - Philodendron and Monterey. Our journey is just starting so keep checking back as we list more and more of these classic collectibles.
