A beautiful late 19th century French Empire gray veined marble pedestal of columnar form with contrasting platforms of porphyry marble. The pedestal is embellished with bronze ormolu mounts. It is a very elegant stately piece to display a piece of art, a bronze, or a marble bust. The pedestal is in very good condition with small age related chipping to some edges and corners. Size: 43 1/2" Height.

A life-size 19th century hand carved Alabaster bust of a young woman signed by Italian artist, C. F. Scheggi, Firenze, Cesare (1833-1876). The bust is finely detailed with beautiful features, downcast eyes, and up-swept hair with front curls. She is wearing a gathered dress with realistic folds, lace border, and bustier. She is raised on a circular plinth which is affixed to the bust and is in good condition, with minor age abrasions to the edges of pedestal; size 24" H x 16" W.
