About Us
Like the big red X that marks the spot on a 'Treasure Island' map; you have found us. If surfing the internet has left you all too often washed up on the shores of mediocrity; please step into our shop.

We are Rick & Mari Benz; lifelong residents of the Cincinnati Ohio area. I am Rick; together with Mari; my wife of 40+ years we have been scouring the planet for items of interest. Just as a gold-panner must sift through literally tons of earth & rock to find the one shimmering pebble that makes it all worthwhile; we are on a continuous and never-ending quest for that marvelous piece that you will love.

Many people have asked about our business name.
Initially my plan was to open a bookstore; focusing on books primarily related to self-improvement; the quest for truth and varied spiritual topics. The name relates to the rebirth of the great Library of Alexandria, destroyed in the 3rd century AD by fanatic mobs of zealous and closed-minded dogmatics. Alexandria is also known for having been the site of the first and famous Lighthouse; one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; it's beacon another symbol of all things positive. I know that's a little grandiose, but I can't help but feel that we have lived before; If you were born with tastes that far exceed your pocketbook it has to mean you were royalty in a past life, right?

Although collecting the unusual has been a passion since teenage years, we began selling at the Covered Bridge Antique Mall in Mount Healthy Ohio in approximately 1990, where we became joint owners/partners in the mall, until 2008, when we relocated to the Ohio Valley Antique Mall, in Fairfield Ohio, where we presently have 18 showcases and 4 booths full of quality merchandise. (On Ohio Route 4, half a mile north of I-275,the circle freeway that surrounds Cincinnati.)

We invite you to visit if you are ever in the Cincinnati area.
Ask to see our inventory; we are dealer #45.
