My interest in the items I offer on Ruby Lane are a reflection of my passion for vintage porcelain, sterling items, and gold jewelry. I also have a passion for animals, all creatures great and small. Speaking of small, my 5 lb family member Zoey (pictured) is modeling a 18K gold clear topaz necklace in her evening wear.

An example of what I offer are vintage gold gemstone rings from Victorian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and Retro periods. I only collect natural gemstone jewelry and in turn, only sell natural gemstone jewelry except on a rare occasion when I purchase a nice ring with a synthetic stone. Some collectors do look for synthetic gemstones set in vintage jewelry and as long as there is full disclosure from the seller, there is nothing wrong with it. Synthetic gemstones are part of the vintage jewelry market. Synthetic and treated gemstones are so common that a thorough knowledge in gemology is necessary to have any confidence with purchases of so-called natural no-treatment gemstones. Having said that, some gem enhancements are acceptable in the jewelry trade, such as heat-treated sapphires. Full disclosure of known gem treatment, gem origin, and accurate grading will be included with my item description.

I am a collector first and foremost, not a broker. Selling some of my acquisitions allows me to indulge in my primary passion, the treasure hunt. I also collect and offer European porcelain and sterling silver ware from both Europe and America.
