About Us
It began more than 14 years ago when my husband and I attended our first Estate Sale. We were intrigued by all the items but were drawn to two vases meticulously hand painted with crimson roses and lavished in gold. We bid on both and we won both! Then the fun really began as we had no idea what we had just purchased. After searching hours on the Internet, we discovered we were now the proud owners of beautiful, Nippon vases produced between 1891 and 1921 by porcelain manufactures in Japan. Intrigued we wanted to know more so we decided to join the International Nippon Collectors' Club where we met some wonderful and knowledgeable people such as Joan Van Patten who has published several books about this beautiful, historical porcelain. Active members for more than 7 years, we were called upon to participate in various seminars held during the annual conference and our last year, my husband held the honor as President of the INCC. We had come along way but still wanted to learn more about other Country's hand painted porcelain including some painted right here in America. With that in mind, we joined The Pickard Club and, once again enjoyed the camaraderie and knowledge one can gain from such a forum.
