A Late Victorian hand chased sterling silver buckle brooch by the James E Blake Co (Attleboro Massachusetts 1889-1936). It's mark JEBCo in intertwined letters and it measures 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches. Excellent antique condition.

This antique Victorian brooch is from the 1860s, when large, heavy, solid jewelry was the rage. These large brooches were a fashion statement and worn at both the front and back of the waist. This piece is gilt brass with an art glass stone, which was likely made in the region of the modern Czech Republic. The brass is stamped with intricate feather-type swirls on which two serpents and wandering vines are applied. It measures 3 1/4 x 2 1/8 inches and is in excellent antique condition.
