I am Donna Houck, the owner of Napa Valley Jewels. NVJ is located in the famous Napa Valley, CA. This has been our home for over 30 years and we absolutely love it here. I began my beading journey shortly after retiring from Secretarial and Bookkeeping work in 2002.

Retirement has allowed me time to spend with our new-born twin grandsons.Every Tuesday my husband and I looked forward to their arrival for the day. I couldn't have done it without Gary - it was a challenge caring for two little ones. This has become a tradition beginning when they were just one month old, and still continues even though they are now eight. Last year they suggested they come on Tuesday and Thursday.

I love to design and create custom jewelry for weddings, mothers day,and any special occasion - I am happy to accommodate you with almost any design you might be interested in - just ask - and I'll let you know if it's possible - I like to include my customers in helping them design their own jewelry even if it's only picking our their choice of colors. I reserve the right to limit this to certain designs. In my work I honor other designers copyrights.

I am a self-taught designer; my education came from many books, videos, a couple classes, and of course - by trial and error. My philosophy is: If I won't wear it, then don't make it.
