Early antique doll purse made of black silk velvet on a brass hinged frame. It has jet beading for a wrist handle and has jet beaded tassel on the bottom. The body of the purse measures closed 2-3/4" long. The handle measures 1-1/4" and the tassel is 1" long. The frame measures 1-1/4" across and works nicely. Condition is excellent with minor wear and patina to the brass. Perfect for a French Fashion doll, china, parian, or other doll of c1860-1880 era.

This is one of the little travel trunk type carpet bags made by Doll Masters a number of years ago. It was a convention gift at UFDC. When you can fine the authentic antique sac du voyage, they a priced well over a thousand dollars, so this is nice to have and is quite inexpensive. Dolly will enjoy keeping all her necessities at hand during her travels. The striped woven top is entirely lined with a hard bottom which is actually the top of the trunk.
