This custom made sterling frying pan was commissioned through Boardman Silversmiths, Inc. out of Connecticut. It measures 12" across. The handle is 11 1/4" long. It weighs 1950 grams. There is in an inscription on the handle that reads "For a Sterling Cook Phil". This could be easily removed if desired. The bottom of the pan is stamped "Sterling by Boardman". While the perfect size for sugar cubes, the design indicates to us that these tongs may have originally been used with a pickle castor. Hallmarks date this to 1857. 4.75" long. Condition: Very good. It includes: 1 Water Pitcher (10" T X 6" W) 1 Platter (19"L X 13" W) 1 Gravy Boat (5 3/4" T to tip of handle) 1 Gravy Boat Underplate (9 1/2" L X 6 1/4" W) Each piece is stamped "Remembrance 1847Rogers Bros EPNS 9813" Condition: Very good with only minor/superficial signs of use. This only adds to its warmth.
