About Scarce Antiques
Our Service Pledge To You:
Every item I offer is guaranteed to be in as described condition, as written in my listings.
I sell mostly antiques and collectibles, which will usually have the normal wear that you would expect to occur from normal use and age.
You are guaranteed that there are no repairs, alterations, or damage, unless I specifically mention them in my condition report above. I do my very best to accurately represent each and every item I sell. I do not sell fakes or reproductions of any kind, unless they are clearly described as such.
I guarantee every item I sell to be authentic, and to be made in the time period as represented.
I have been buying and selling all types of items since the late 1960's so I usually spot reproductions, fakes and alterations to items with ease.
I welcome input from dealers and collectors in specialized areas, to help insure my listings are complete and accurate.
About Us
Hello Collectors,
My name is Christian Chaffee, and I have been buying and selling art and antiques since 1969, when I was in grade school, working with my father in Santa Barbara California.
I have been buying and selling antiques & art for almost 40 years. The world has changed so much since those days. Today there is much more information available, but good things are also much harder to find. I have handled many thousands of genuine high quality antiques and works of art, and know how to spot fakes, reproductions, and repairs. I do not deal in any sort of reproduction ever.
I have had my antique liquidation business here in San Diego CA for about 20 years, and have been a regular seller on eBay for almost 10 years. My track record eBay was built by offering genuine items, which were accurately represented, and treating my customers like family.
I deal in low to high priced items, with an average sales price on eBay, of over $100.00. I have sold a good number of items on eBay which brought over $10,000.00.
I work hard to find genuine items of quality, so my customers get solid value for their money. I do my best to properly photograph every item, and to describe it accurately.
My personal interests include collecting fine old Japanese swords, chess, bike riding, kayaking, and love roller-skating.
If you want to know more about me, you can put my name into google search along with San Diego historic streetcars, and you will find I am the sole owner of three full sized historic streetcars. These three 1912 streetcars were designated as San Diego Historic Landmark #339 in 1998, and are now scheduled to be nominated for State Historic designation. I hope to see these back on the streets, as one of San Diego's newest tourist attractions.
I am also working on a construction project , to expand my cafe into a full sized restaurant, and to build a small 3 story commercial building.
I enjoy buying and selling fun treasures, and I am looking forward to doing business here on Ruby Lane, as this site was highly recommended by a good friend.
