While we are new, here, on Ruby Lane, we have had an online presence and have been selling in various antique malls for the past 12 years.
Our goal is to provide customers with outstanding service, along with quality antiques and collectibles. Your satisfaction with the items that you purchase from us--- and the personable, professional service you receive--- is always our first priority! We check our emails frequently, and are always happy to respond to your questions. We respond to all orders within 24 hours, and usually within a couple of hours. We guarantee the authenticity of all our items, and the photos and descriptions are guaranteed to be accurate and pertain to the exact item you are viewing/purchasing.

We are collectors, too, and we understand the frustrations that come from a Seller failing to accurately describe an item's condition.
We always strive to offer the fullest possible disclosure in both the verbal description and the photographs, which are never enhanced or re-touched in any manner: what you see is just what you are receiving!

We prefer payments via Postal Money Order.
We also accept all major credit or debit cards through Paypal.
We will also accept Cashierï¾'s Checks and other money orders, with the purchased item shipping once such payments have cleared our bank.
PayPal payments made from your positive account balance or via credit or debit card will result in the item being shipped the following business day.
PayPal E-checks and other methods will require time for the funds to clear our bank.
Postal Money Orders will generally ship the following business day, but our bank can require up to 2 days processing/clearance time before the funds are deposited into our account.
Cashier's Checks and bank drafts usually process within 2 business days, as well.

If you wish to pay via Personal Check, please let us know of this desire so that we can pre-approve such a transaction PRIOR to purchasing an item from our Shop.
(Even if approved, please understand that we cannot ship any item until the check has cleared our bank. This can take as long as 10 business days.)

All items will be packaged with great care, using quality packaging materials to ensure safe arrival. (We have lots of experience in packaging/shipping high-end glassware!) All items will be shipped within 2 business days of receiving cleared payment.

About Us

The Majestic Eclectic will offer a variety of glassware, toys, jewelry, and other antiques and collectibles. We specialize in vintage Carnival Glass items from the original period, 1909 through the mid-1930ï¾'s, and at prices that are highly competitive for the collector, investor, and dealer.


We have an extensive personal collection, and we continually add pieces from various places: antique stores, estates sales, flea markets, garage sales and auctions. This means that we consistently need to ï¾"moveï¾" pieces in order to make room for our new finds, which allows us to offer these items, here, to new homes!


My first pieces were items from my parentï¾'s collection. My father was born in 1921, and grew up during The Great Depression. He recalled when Carnival Glass items were given away as promotions in drugstores and grocery stores, and as prizes in local carnivals. He inherited a few pieces from his mother when she passed, and he also bought a few pieces of his own, as he was able. Since we were not well-to-do, his purchases were not frequent, nor were they high-end items. However, seeing them displayed in our house as I grew up was enough to get me started on my own collecting several years ago!

My first online purchase was a little $40 marigold Dugan Beauty Bud vase! Now, years later, I have amassed quite a library of Reference materials and collector publications, along with my collection of glassware. I have attended major Carnival Glass auctions throughout the country and been a member of many collector clubs. In addition, I have held in my hands many tremendous pieces, and have owned a number of very rare and hard-to-find items.


I am well aware of how seemingly small issues (minor damage, wear, manufacturing flaws, iridescence problems, etc) can adversely affect the desirability and value of a vintage piece, and always fully-disclose everything that I note about an item within the itemï¾'s description and photographs.

I spend a great deal of time seeking out finer, high-end examples that will appeal to the advanced collector, as well as quality pieces for the beginning-to-intermediate collector.

US ORDERS: We normally ship using the United States Postal Service, with Insurance and Delivery Confirmation. Larger items may be shipped via UPS. (For the protection of both parties, we require insurance be purchased on every order.)


INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: Please e-mail us for shipping costs. All international orders require payment through Paypal, or by a United States International Postal Money Order. Buyer is solely responsible for shipments that do not allow insurance. We will not misrepresent the contents of any package, or lie on Customs forms!

Return policy

Returns pleasantly accepted if I have misrepresented the item purchased, in which case I will also pay shipping costs both ways. If you simply decide you don't like or don't want an item after receiving it, then I will refund your payment, minus shipping costs and a 10% Restocking Fee. If a return is needed, contact must be made within 3 days of receipt of item. Refund will generally be by credit to your PayPal account. For any return, I must be contacted BEFORE the Buyer ships the item back, and the item must be returned in condition in which it was sold. (All high-end items are 'marked' before they are packaged/shipped.) Please ensure the complete description is read in its entirety, and any questions or concerns are addressed to me via the 'Email Shop Owner' link in the left-hand sidebar of any shop page PRIOR to purchasing. I am always happy to answer all questions received!

Since I check my email several times each day, I prefer contact via email in most instances.


A note about Customer Service

I recall when I first began using online selling venues. Back then, it seemed that nearly everyone tried as hard as they could to work together to make each transaction a pleasant one. Now, 12 years later---- as I remain both a collector and a Buyer, in addition to being an online Seller---- it seems that I must be more cautious with whom I deal, not less.
Large-volume Sellers are impressive!
However, I have found it preferable to try to deal with ï¾`Mom and Popï¾' operations or single individuals, like myself, working/selling out of their home.
It seems far less likely that I am simply a number that way!


As a Seller, I still like to treat each Buyer as the important individual that they are. I still generate my own hand-written adï¾'s and take my own photos; I still generate each email for every transaction, without relying on software to do it for me; I still package every item myself, by hand; and, I still strive to ship every item within 24 hours of purchase, provide a tracking-number, and correspond with the Buyer to ensure that it was received, and was satisfactory.

If not, I strive to fix it. I just feel that is the way it should be done.

Layaways

In order to assist customers to obtain the items they desire, we do offer a Layaway Program.

In order to qualify for this program, the item must meet our criteria, the customer must contact us with their interest / intent and obtain our pre-approval, and then follow the below-outlined plan.

Item qualification:

The item offered for sale must be priced more than $400 USD.

Customer qualification:

The Buyer must be a registered member of Ruby Lane, and be in good standing. All payments must be made to this Shop in a timely manner, and as outlined, below. Shipping of the layaway item will only take place upon completion of all payments.

Payment plan:

Initial payment of 25% of the price of the item must be made within 7 business days of the purchase / layaway. (The minimum amount of this initial payment will be no less than $100)

The remaining balance will be divided into two (2) equal installments: the first installment will be due 30 days after receipt of initial payment; the second, and final, installment will be due 30 days after the first installment. This final installment should also include the previously-quoted shipping costs.

(This is a total of 67 days, maximum, after initiation of the purchase / layaway for the item to be paid-in-full, along with shipping costs.)

Cancellation and Refunds:

The customer may cancel the layaway at any point in the above transaction period. The Shop Owner may only cancel the layaway transaction if the customer fails to make any payment(s) in the amounts or timeframe outlined.

If the layaway transaction is cancelled, there will be a Cancellation Fee of 5% of the price of the item assessed against the refund amount.

As an example: A $400 item was placed on Layaway. The initial $100 payment was remitted and received within 7 business days, and the second installment $150 (half of the remaining balance of $300) was also remitted and received within the next 30 days. The final installment payment of $150 (plus shipping costs) was not remitted / received within the remaining 30 days, so the transaction is automatically cancelled by the Shop Owner. The customer is assessed a Cancellation Fee of $20 (5% of the $400 price of the item). The payments remitted totaled $250. The fee amount of $20 will be deducted from this amount, and a refund of $230 returned to the customer.


The Cancellation Fee will never exceed $50, regardless of the original sale price of the item!


Service Charges:

The layaway option is done as a courtesy to customers. The Shop Owner does not do this as a means of making ï¾`additionalï¾' money; we simply desire your business, and offer this option as one way of earning it!

No service charges or fees are assessed on any layaway transaction that is completed in the appropriate manner and timeframe, as outlined above.

Item Disposition:

Any item placed on layaway through our Shop is automatically marked as ï¾"Soldï¾" and/or is moved to our Back Room where no other customer can purchase the item.

Once the overall layaway process has been completed, the item will be processed for shipment as outlined in our normal Shipping Policy. The customer will be responsible for pre-payment of all shipping and insurance costs prior to any layaway item being shipped, and this amount is best included with the final installment payment.
