My husband and I have been in the jewelry business for over 10 years. It is my passion .... our business is based on our love for old jewelry. We strive to always offer unique and quality collectible jewelry.

We have over 40 jewelry reference books that I use to help research and evaluate the items that we put up for sale... In addition I spend countless hours doing Internet research and I get evaluations from others in the business when necessary. My husband prides himself on the time spent packaging and insuring that your item arrives to you safely and in a timely manner.

We are selective about our items that we list on Ruby Lane. As a collector myself, I do not believe in loading our shop with items that I feel do not have some qualifying merit. Each item we list must have something..... either an important maker or origin, a beautiful or unique look, a value in history or precious metal or it must be a a highly collectible piece of jewelry or a novelty item that was too cute to resist.... our other items go to local auctions.


Grading of jewelry:

As an internet buyer myself, I consider it an important aspect of my ads to mention everything that I see in a piece. All flaws that I notice are noted ....regardless of whether they are minor or seem of no importance to some. I feel this is an important aspect of selling antiques on line. Of course I am human, but I do my very best to report any issues.

Cleaning of sterling and silver: We never clean sterling unless requested. I know some buyers prefer the old patinas. If you purchase an item and do want it cleaned/polished... please do not hesitate to ask and we will be happy to accommodate you.

We ship our items in the US first class because we have found that shipping priority does not really buy you any great time, however if you want priority we will be happy to oblige you and send a revised price invoice.

NOTE: When purchasing multiple items, please wait for your invoice before paying. I need to reduce your shipping before you pay.

Our home is smoke free. We do have a couple pets that we adopted from animal shelters but we do not allow them to play with the jewelry :).
