About UsI was only 17yrs of age when I initially fell in love with the idea of Architecture and Aesthetic Romanticism associated with Antiques. The fiscal influence followed soon after when I realised Antiques and Fine Art could be traded. I became captivated with these influences and after a rush of early interest I gained a basic understanding. A deep passion for this wonderful business ensued as I became a 'treasure hunter' and Antique Dealer and ever since those early days of heady juvenile interest I've 'been up and running' with the idea ever since. I suppose I haven't stopped once yet.
I am now in my 40th year of a fantastic exhilarating experience and a very interesting one it has turned out to be. It is now all set fair with a lot of learning behind me! I've seen so much and bought and sold so much a huge eclectic variety of items over the years that I don't remember it all! Some great memories and discoveries to recall enough to drive me on and on.
So here I am 40 years and still fired-up finding very decorative & interesting exquisite treasures with all my 'newfound knowledge'. Sometimes scarce and rare treasures for you to also own, and love like me. To adore collect and decorate your lovely homes with. To make them more beautiful wonderfully exciting and interesting
places to live in!! So lets get shopping and dealing together.Lets make our mark a difference now.
I currently maintain a 'showroom' within a Group of Four Antique Malls called 'Top Banana' which is situated in one of those most beautiful Medieval English Country Wool Towns in the 'Cotswold's' called 'Tetbury'. I'm actually in a ground floor room in 'Top Banana 2 Mall' Long Street Tetbury. This famous Cotswold Town is where Prince Charles lives nearby at 'Highgrove' where 'Gatcombe Park'
is also nearby and the famous Cross-Country Horse Trials are held at Badminton. Where some of our famous Television and Film Stars live. For example Liz Hurley. I've actually seen her in our Antique Centre, wearing dark glasses, sloppy wool jumper and jeans !
We started an Antique Centre in a Grade 2 listed UK Heritage Building a Shopping Arcade in Cardiff the Capital of Wales UK in 1993. It is called 'Cardiff Antique Centre'.
It is where my Wife Janet Butler trades from with her beautiful Antique and secondhand Jewellery. I also had a booth in there for the first few years but moved out to pursue new ideas within the parameters of the Antiques Trade.
I also network my great eclectic experience and knowledge into Estate Appraisal as well. Assessing and writing Formal
Valuations for Specific occasions such as for Probate
Purposes and Tax For Insurance Policies and Claims Family Division Divorce Settlements only if they involve Specialist Collections or Antiques and Fine Art. Also Court Settlements regarding disputes etc...

During my early years after school I qualified as a Chartered Builder [A Royal Charter bestowed upon our Professional Institute of Builders by the Duke of Edinburgh] due to Parental influence but as things turned out I preferred to be a Professional and Traditional Antiques Dealer. To illustrate and declare my professional outlook in Business I became a member of the 'Federation of Small Businesses' in the U.K. and also signed up too that most reputable and now well established 'British Guild of Master Craftsman'. Basically a group of business craftsman and professionals who believe in maintaining quality business standards for Clients and Customer care.Janet’s opinion.
Janet is an expert Antique and Vintage Jewellery Dealer. She has been passionately and relentlessly hard working at this specialist subject since 1976, that’s 40 years now. Quite fantastic I say !!! She has the origins of her selling experience in Cardiff City Antique Markets and the surrounding areas. Later, in the 1980’s she started to go to Clifford’s regular selling position in one the most beautiful English Spa Towns, Bath to buy and sell. This is as well as maintaining a regular two day selling position in one of Cardiff’s Antique Markets. Later in the mid-1980’s we Branched out and joined the big Fair circuit and visited many a Stately Place throughout this fair land of ours. Also, all sorts of Country Houses, and established Antique Fairs, including London, Newark, Ardingly, and many ,many more places, there rather to numerous to mention them all.
Janet is a member of the Jewellery Historian Society with is affiliated to that the very Grand Institution of the British Museum, London. The Federation of Small Businesses to support a healthy Business community, which is mainly based in the UK. The Federation supports Small Business causes and delivers some good deals for its Members. The Ancient Guild of Master Craftsmen who principally also does collectively good for its membership, but principally stands for a set pattern of standard moral codes for all its members to be known by its Members Clientele and the general Public alike. To quote one of the largest modern, new jewellery shop owners in Cardiff City, to a client inquiring about a local buyer for her deceased Mothers Estate Jewellery, ‘’ Janet Butler is the ‘Fairest buyer and the fairest seller he knows’’ Quite an accolade I think.
