About Books and Bygones
Our Service PledgeWhether large or small, expensive or on sale, you can expect the same level of high quality, honest and friendly, service on every item. All will be described fully and accurately, mailed promptly, often the next day, and packaged with great care.
About UsFor many years I was a Book Scout for book dealers and store owners across the US and Canada. I kept many of my finds, and now my shelves are stacked and bursting! I want to share my thousands of books, and my expertise, with others.
I know books and how to value and describe them. I will be using the standard set by The Antiquarian Bookman for catalogue and mail order transactions first proposed in 1949 and used to this day. Briefly they are: As New, Fine, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor (Reading Copy), Ex-library, Book Club, and Binding Copy. I will elaborate in the listings and for full definitions please email me.
Books, and related items, should be within the reach of all, so my books are reasonably and correctly priced.
If you do not see the book or item you want, email and ask. It may be behind the counter or in the backroom waiting for you.
As well, I am a couture quality seamstress, who has always appreciated vintage and antique clothing. I can accurately assess the quality and construction of any garment and identify its period. Textiles of any period or origin fascinate me. The clothing in my shop will be meticulously described and photographed.
Shopping in Canada is easy and hassle free. The only difference may be a few extra days in transit, and you will find books and other treasures here that are unavailable anywhere else!
Layaway is available on all purchases. Just ask.
