About Blue's Things
Our Service PledgeTo the best of my knowledge I accurately describe my items and will give you the best service I possibly can. If for any reason I can't - I will let you know. This is exactly what I want when shopping online. I believe in what I'm doing, stand behind my items and I am determined to succeed. Please email me with any comments, questions, advise or constructive criticism. Thank you.
About UsBeing an old "rock hound", I've attended many fossil, rock and mineral shows over the years and noticed how they evolved into artisan jewelry shows also - commenting to myself "I could make that". Well, now I am. Learned a lot over the last few years and started designing, creating AND selling my very own "artisan jewelry". This new-found creativity comes from my life's experiences, nature, friends and great memories.
I prefer to use wire of all kinds and gauges, especially copper, as the foundation of my pieces and embellish with semi-precious gemstones, crystal, metal and faceted glass beads. I'll use focals of lampwork glass, polymer clay, Lucite, bone, carved wood, and metal handmade by artists I admire. Some of my items are themed, some complicated, some are not, some from books I've read, things I've seen or places I've been. Most are asymmetrical. I learn something new every day and love every minute of it.
Educated in paleontology, employed by corporate America, now semi-retired, I plan to continue working part-time for two local police departments and enjoy making all these ideas in my head become reality. Antique and vintage items - mostly from family, friends and my attic - will also be included in my shop.
My mother had a shop on Ruby Lane so I know of the high standards they set for their sellers and buyers - that's why I decided to open my shop on this site. My gorgeous, talkative, spoiled Himalayan cat is named Blue (his eyes) - hence, my shop name because he gets 'involved'. Please take a look, browse, critique and let me know what you think.
