About As Time Goes By
Our Service PledgeWe vow to describe items as fully as our knowledge/research allows. We will respond by the next business day (but often before!).
About UsAS TIME GOES BY is an antique firm that always strives to obtain the best quality antiques, whether from major auctions, estate sales or private contacts. We found early in our business that items in perfect condition represent the best way to make a solid name in a competitive market.
We are a partnership that has vast experience in the field of home decorating, antiques and mechanical novelties such as music boxes and occasionally time pieces. We also have worked for several years with one of New England's premier auction houses. Together, we bring over 40 years of expertise to our customers.
Although we are now exclusive sellers on Ruby Lane we are not new to the internet. We've been active, successful sellers in the on line auction format for 20 years with 100% positive feedback.
Linwood (Woody) got his start as a History teacher, coincidentally teaching in Waldoboro Maine, where the Maine Antique Digest is published. It isn't much of a jump from a vocation of history to the avocation of antiques! As a native Mainer, Woody brings Yankee ingenuity and an interest in good value to our offerings.
Marcia was born in Lancaster County PA, then traveled the globe for many years with military parents. Exposure to antiques was an understatement. She later added fine art and decorating degrees to her accomplishments. She has been a contributing writer on antiques to several local newspapers. She also brings over 35 years of quality service in a retail setting.
Combined, we strive for the best presentation of high quality, customer service and satisfaction that we can offer to you, our customers and friends.
We welcome telephone inquiries and email questions. If you want to know more than we've written, why then, just call! You're the reason we're here and we're glad to hear from you. We attend many auctions and estate sales and don't mind looking for specific items for our customers. We also have a MUCH larger inventory than we've gotten listed so far. Call us if you are trying to locate something. We just might have it!.By the way, Maine is East Coast time. Calls up 'til 11pm (or thereabouts) are fine.
We are interested in many areas of antiques but have a growing collection of Handpainted Dresden Porcelain to offer. We are astounded by the original art work on each piece and one led to the next....... We remain in contact with the current Thieme factory and have several of their catalogues. To that end, we would be pleased to acquire new pieces for you or provide pictures and prices of their current catalogue for comparison.
