About Us
My antiques business is the culmination of a lifetime of antiques collecting combined with a serious study of furniture design, restoration and conservation. I am a member of the Society of American Period Furniture Makers, five time attendee of "Working Wood in the 18th Century" at Williamsburg, VA and a member of the Mid West - Tool Collectors Association. A recent course in Furniture Conservation added new skills in antique restoration. Understanding traditional design and construction is a must to be able to sort through the great amount of "antiques" that come to market. Unfortunately, many are not what they are purported to be. Developing a good "eye" for true age and great design is essential for success.
As the business grows it has evolved to a greater focus on painted country furniture and folk art. Trade signs are of particular interest and you will see examples of many listed here on Ruby Lane.
My background in antiques and their restoration puts me in a great position to find and offer the best selection of antiques and collectibles, and in the best condition, for your home or collection. My goal is to, first, win your confidence, then develop an ongoing relationship based on a mutual love of things old.
I hope you visit this site often and that you feel free to ask whatever questions you have about the items we offer for sale. I would love to share my passion with you.
