SALE Antique Georgian Ultra-thin English Sterling Silver Etui, 2 Tortoise Shell Lancets - Nece

$336 USD SaleSALE Antique Georgian Ultra-thin English Sterling Silver Etui, 2 Tortoise Shell Lancets - Necessaire

Antiques:Medical & Scientific
I've acquired a collection of wonderful Georgian to very early Victorian era 'necessaire', this one a lancets set, complete with the original small pocket case 'etui', and will be listing both today. Interesting medical and scientific genre antiques are hard to come by. This one is superb, ultra-thin, and is nearly unscathed by time or use. The 2 steel 'bleeding' blades remain very sharp, the hinged 'fold-back' handles/covers are also in fine condition as is the etui, itself. A superb find for ...
SALE Beautiful Antique French Black Forest Style Carved Oak 17" Wall Barometer & Thermome

$251 USD SaleSALE Beautiful Antique French Black Forest Style Carved Oak 17" Wall Barometer & Thermometer

Antiques:Medical & Scientific
Fabulous antique French Victorian era 17" wall barometer & thermometer with beautifully hand carved Black Forest style solid European oak case, marvelous condition and 'Chavannaz, Ingr. Opticien, Bordeaux' maker mark! I can't seem to find many references to the maker, a few sets of field or opera glasses online but no history. The mark would actually be "Chavannaz, Ingenieur Opticien, Bordeaux", (engineer, optician). A beautiful case, hand carved in solid European oak with floral finial, scrolls ...

The shop moved to 2 Grafton St, Dublin in 1827, directly across the street from Trinity College. Stephen Mitchell Yeates (born in 1832) took over in 1865 the business which his father ...

SOLDSOLD Antique French Aneroid Barometer, Thermometer 22" Carved Case

Antiques:Medical & Scientific
A beautiful late 1800s Victorian casement of fine aesthetically carved wood, and a working aneroid barometer, a fine working original thermometer with milk glass backing - all in beautiful condition. We've had some English ones made in this form but smaller, so I was interested to find this 22" tall French made version. Final top and bottom will remove easily for shipment, making this one easier for safe transport, too. Isn't it great! Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Both the ...
