$676 USD SaleSALE Superb HP Antique French Fan, Gold Silver Inlay Carved Ivory - Excellent Condition, with Tassel and Box

Antiques:Accessories:Fans
A magnificent 19th century French fan, sticks and guards of delicately carved natural ivory colored material often used in these fine old fans (tested - not celluloid!). The beauty of the gold and silver foil onlays on the sticks and guards is really quite amazing, and I think my photographer hasn't quite captured how brilliantly the metal onlays shimmer and shine, nor that these areas also have perforation to bring in back-lighting, as well, to add to the shine. SOLDSOLD Superb HP Antique French Fan, Silk, MOP, Sequins, Pique

Antiques:Accessories:Fans
With elements of the Neoclassical popularlized in France during the reign of Napoleon and Josephine, this is a stunning and fine early 1800s French fan that is fit for a frame display. Fine art in hand painted guache on silk (double leaf, also hand painted on back, as shown). The Leaf is set to elegant mother of pearl sticks and guards, all of which are in remarkably fine condition. I see just one hairline (noted in our images) about one inch from the end of one guard, and while it is there to ...

SOLDSOLD Stunning Antique Hand Painted French Fan, Very Ornate Carved Ivory Inlaid with Gold, Silver Foil

Antiques:Accessories:Fans
One of the most magnificently crafted fans I've seen in ages, this one has intricately gold/silver inlaid ox bone guards and sticks, beautifully preserved, and a hand painted paper leaf that is varied on each side. Combined, the result is a large and opulent fan you'll want to frame and display or even use. The guards and sticks are without damage and the leaf, while paper and showing some age and light foxing at a few folds (see our images, it's quite light), it would be a lovely 'something old ...

He opened his first shop in 1875 in Albany (upstate New York) before creating in 1922 one in Paris. By offering its own line of optical and medical products to international customers, the House Meyrowitz managed to ...
