I have for your consideration a fabulous Limoges jardiniere/cache pot/vase with matching plinth.
The jardiniere bears the Paroutaud Freres Factory : 1903- 1917.
(The Paroutaud brothers company was in businesss from about 1903 until 1917. Madame Vue Paroutaud started a Limoges porcelain factory in 1895 with her sons Pierre and Paul; in 1902 it bacame Paroutaud Frères. The brothers left in 1916, and the company became Maiger & Cie, managed by A.Francois...)
Artist signed: G. Rosier. The plinth is the familiar gold pawed footed. Sitting on the plinth, the jardiniere soars to a height of 10.24" (26cm) high. The jardiniere/cache pot/vase measures 7.48" (19cm) tall and 8.27" (21cm) across at the mouth opening. The circumference is an impressive 33.5"(85cm) at its widest.
The jardiniere is decorated with a hand painted floral decor of Chrysanthemums with different but complimentary colors predominating on either side. The mouth rim of the jardiniere is finished with a thine trim of gold gild.
The jardiniere is in excellent condition. There are no chips, flakes, cracks, paint loss, hairlines or spiders. The colors are crisp and vibrant. The plinth is in very good condition. There is the wear of age to the gold and inconspicuous chip to the toes of lion. Since the plinth can be turned in either direction this would not affect the display of the jardiniere set.
