Dining Table American Victorian c. 1880's

Dining Table American Victorian c. 1880's Solid walnut table in good original finish with 8 original leaves. Tables like this are called split pedestal tables because when opened the pedestal separates and the center leg that was hidden inside the pedestal becomes the center support. Original porcelain wheels and holder for leaves. 48" round when closed can be made larger 1 foot at a time with up to 8 leaves, 12' maximum. Just under 30"high. Some minor scratches on top that are hardly noticeable and one small piece chipped off where table closes in middle. Table is very tight but, when opened up past 7 or 8 feet becomes pretty wobbly. I'm sure this table was used for big family dinners and it was shaky all opened up even when new. Don't serve tough meat and soup at the same time. Table has nice patina.
