David Gantz was a prolific artist who worked with the likes of Al Jaffee and Charles Schulz. In the 1940's he produced work for Marvel including 'Mighty Mouse' and 'Super Rabbit.' 'Yogi Bear', 'Smokey Bear' and 'G.I.Joe' all had magazine or book art done by Gantz in the 1960's. Gantz even had his own comic strips. The Herald Tribune printed 'Dudley D' from 1961 to 1964 and the New York Times ran 'Don Q' from 1975-1980. He even worked for Sesame Street in the 1970's. One of his last works was a book he wrote and illustrated 'Jews in America: A Cartoon History.'
