Burl Bowl and Carved Ladle

BURL BOWL. First half 19th century. This beautiful example with very good figuring, turned with sloping sides, terminating in a flattened exterior foot. All surfaces exhibit strong tooling marks that add to the appeal of the bowl.

The shape is a thing of beauty. There is an old mend(clasp) on the sides along a long split in the wood that runs along the side and bottom, see pics. The integrity of the bowl is not compromised. It's as solid as a rock, and quite heavy. Also a bit of white, possibly paint, in a spot, also clear in pics.

Measures between 6 1/2 and 5 1/2 inches high, depending where you measure. Approx. 10 1/2 inches in diameter

Would look great on a stand anywhere in your home. A true collectors piece.
