Pearlware Coffee Can with With Pink Lustre House Decoration 1820s

Offered is a pearlware coffee can with molded handle and pink lustre decoration. Done in a version of the "house pattern", these wares were made for heavy export to the American market. The can dates from the 1820's.

Size: 2 1/2" high and 2 1/2" in diameter.

Condition: Very good. The lustre is colorful, clearly applied and unworn except for two little knicks on the rim. The pearlware glaze is smooth, bluish in heavy areas or pools, and not worn. There are no chips, cracks, or restoration.

Early period antiques are quite old and frequently have signs of age and use and sometimes a small manufacturing defect or repair. While this is normal and to be expected I note any known issues in the condition descriptions.
