Hicks, Meigh, and Johnson English Porcelain Rococo Form Teapot, C 1830
Size: Height is 6 1/2" to top of finial, length is 11 1/4" from handle to spout, diameter is 6 3/4".
Condition: Average. The overglaze enamel is colorful and not chipped or worn, the glaze is smooth, shiny and unworn, and the gilding is bright and unworn even on the handle and finial. There is a chip to the base as shown with no other chips, what appears to be a repair to the base and top of the handle as shown (not very noticeable unless you look very closely) and some discoloration to the inside and very slight discoloration to the handle. There are no cracks or hairlines.
Early period antiques are quite old and frequently have signs of age and use and sometimes a small manufacturing defect or repair. While this is normal and to be expected I note any known issues in the condition descriptions.
