Staffordshire Black and White plate, Fountain by Enoch Wood, 1830s

Here is a wonderful plate in great condition in the Fountain pattern by Enoch Wood and sons from the 1830s. The black transferprint is the same as another plate I have available in chocolate brown. The highly decorated rim has a smooth edge and is scalloped. These pictoral romantic scenes shown on staffordshire of this period were a reflection of peoples' new interest in natural landscapes on pottery.

Size: 10 1/4" in diameter

Condition: Excellent. Nice detailed and clear print, smooth glaze without any wear, no chips, cracks, or repairs.

Early period antiques are quite old and frequently have signs of age and use and sometimes a small manufacturing defect or repair. While this is normal and to be expected I note any known issues in the condition descriptions.
