Presented is a good size English porcelain cup and saucer with colorful cranberry ground color decoration. The glaze and gilding on the handle suggest a Bloor Derby manufacture, but this exact form is not one I am familiar with from Derby. Completely useable, it dates from the 1820s-1830 period.
Size: the cup is 2 1/8" high and almost 3 3/4" in diameter. The saucer is 5 3/4" in diameter.
Condition: Very Good. The ground color is bright and appealing with no chips, only a very thin, light somewhat peeling film in places on the cup. The glaze is smooth, unworn and shiny. The gilding is of good quality and unworn. There are no chips, cracks, or restoration.
Early period antiques are quite old and frequently have signs of age and use and sometimes a small manufacturing defect or repair. While this is normal and to be expected I note any known issues in the condition descriptions.
