Derby Blue Ground and Gilt Decorated Soup Bowl

Featured is a large Derby porcelain soup bowl with fine gilded decoration on dark blue ground having gadrooned molded rim. The back is lightly marked (difficult to photograph) with the red triple baton mark as shown used by Derby from roughly 1800 to 1825. The mark is light and hard to capture in detail by photograph.

Size: The diameter is 10" with height of just under 2".

Condition: Good. there is very, very slight wear to the gilding and slight glaze wear to the area inside the inner rim. Back has 3 small rim chips as shown; side has 6 very small rim chips that are hardly noticeable.

Early period antiques are quite old, were made to be used, and frequently have signs of age and use and sometimes a small manufacturing defect or repair. While this is normal and to be expected I note any known issues in the condition descriptions.
