I have available an antique, solid .925 Sterling Silver flatware set made by Elkington & Co. the Fiddle pattern with a wave-crest on end of handles.
Hallmark was registered with the Birmingham, England Assay office in 1911, according to makers marks.
Set is 12, 5 piece place settings, plus 6 demitasse spoons, a total of 66 pieces. According to original owner, set did not come with knives, so there are no dinner knives included.
Smallest Demitasse spoons have a different date mark and appear to be from 1875. Demitasse spoons also have a gold wash in the bowls.
Please note the unusually large size of dinner fork. See picture showing dinner fork next to modern stainless dinner fork. Please also note that all fork's handles curve upward and the ends and all spoons curve down.
All pieces are engraved with a stylized D
Set includes, with approximate lengths and weight per piece: 12 dinner forks - 8 1/4" - 2 5/8 ounces 12 salad forks - 7 1/4" - 1 3/4 ounces 12 teaspoons - 5 5/8" - 1 ounce 12 tablespoons - 7 1/4" - 1 3/4 ounce 12 large serving tablespoons - 9" - 2 5/8 ounce 6 demitasse spoons - 5 1/8" - 3/4 ounce
Set is in remarkable condition for its 100 plus year old age. Only minor imperfections overall. 6 teaspoons do have a small dents at tips of bowls (see last picture). Gold wash is worn on demitasse spoons.
NOTE: There is a felt lined wood box that set came in that is not included, but will ship by request from buyer for additional shipping costs, only. Please request pictures if interested.
