Mans RARE 1918 ART DECO Waltham "THE RUBY" (model name) 14k solid gold (slightly rosy gold color) wrist watch with hooded lugs. ONE STAR RATING! * Case measures 1-1/2" (38mm) x 1-1/8". Mechanical wind up 17 ruby jewel movement serial number 22144366. This has the original (not refinished) metal dial with radium hands and Arabic numerals (still has some glow in the dark properties!). This watch is a fantastic example of the earliest known wrist watches, slightly after the transition from pocket to wrist watch manufacturing. This very earliest style utilized fixed (not removable) lugs and the very old style of watch straps (bands) that had to be glued in place! In phenomenal condition, extremely well babied. Brand new 5/8" black GENUINE CROCODILE watch strap. Original glass crystal. We only use HIGH QUALITY American or European made straps. Inside back of case is factory hallmarked (ORIGINAL American made case- NOT a European made recase!)- "Patented April 16, 1912" and "14K". This is the design patent on the case, the watch is listed in the reference books with a date of 1918.
