Scarce hand crafted 14K yellow gold Victorian pearl brooch. Three different sizes of natural half pearls and natural half seed pearls. Notice the quality in the selection of the pearls for color match, and the four pearls in the corners are all slightly oval in shape, so beautifully crafted! The three sizes of pearls measure 4.5mm, 2mm and 2mm. Measures 1-3/4" x 1". Weighs a hefty 12.8 grams! The piece has a beautiful weighty construction, early style tube hinge and simple wide c clasp. It is numbered by the maker # "61/164". The fact that only 164 were ever made, and the sheer age of this pin makes it extraordinarily rare. Typical of the majority of authentic Victorian jewels (particularly hand crafted pieces such as this), the brooch is not gold hallmarked, but it has been carefully tested to guarantee 14K content and quality. In fabulous well babied condition, looks like it sat in a jewelry box it's whole life! Circa mid 1800's.
