Hallmarks: Ward Brothers initials (WBs). First is a tree, City of Glasgow. Second is the Lion Rampant, Sterling .925 mark for Edinburgh. Third is the Thistle, Sterling .925 mark for Glasgow. Fourth is the date letter 'J' in a quatrefoil, Edinburgh, 1949-1964.
I have attempted to show you the best photos of the marks that I can. Measures approx. 2 5/8" long, 1 1/8" wide.
The antlers surround an amber toned glass stone, which has a tiny chip to the very top (see first picture).
Two of the claws have broken tips, and there is some feather loss, but it's a lovely piece. I have worn it as a lapel pin on a jacket.
I have no idea how the safety chain is supposed to work, as I have never worn a kilt! My Dad did, on special occasions however - he was a proper Scotsman!
