Early 20th Century French Sheet Gold Magnifying Glass

Exceptional large French sheet gold magnifying glass from the early 20th century. This was constructed from an old fancy parasol (umbrella) handle that was rolled in sheet gold and attached to a magnifying glass. Lovely repousse on the handle and monogram on the end. I cannot make out the letters but they are very fancy scrolled. Not newly made, but done in the early 1900s. 14" long.

What a great piece to have near your favorite coffee table book or on a library desk!
