Biscuit Jar Mt Washington Wave Crest Glass

Biscuit Jar Mt Washington Wave Crest Glass Biscuit Jar, opaque white manufactured by Mt. Washington (Pairpoint) it was decorated by the C.F. Monroe Company of Meriden, Connecticut. The glass was painted in soft pastel colors and decorated with flowers. The name Wave Crest was used after 1898. This biscuit jar is molded glass 5" square with scalloped corners, has high relief scrolling panel outline, with floral design on four sides. When originally made this biscuit jar had faint pale yellow highlighting in the background and quite remarkably it has not been rubbed or washed off. Jar has original silver plate over brass mount and lid. Lid is marked CFM Co. Quadruple plate. There is some wear to plating. Original metal handle with ornamentation at the top. Glass is perfect. Lid rim has been reshaped at some time, not sure why and the tip of the finial on the top is missing. This biscuit jar is guaranteed old.
