Lemonade or water set, antique American glass, hand painted pitcher and 4 glasses or tumblers, Victorian, circa 1900. The pitcher is hand blown and glasses are molded. The entire set is hand painted with stylized Art Nouveau white enamel flowers.
Pitcher has pontil mark on the bottom. The pitcher is taper cylindrical with rounded drop shoulders, with applied handle and ruffle rim. It stands 9 1/4" tall with 10 ribs. There is a 1/2" gold leaf band with white enamel circle, dots and diaper pattern. Each ribbed panel is hand painted from stencil white enamel floral sprigs. Pattern is 1 7/8" x 1 1/4". See photos.
The four glasses or tumblers as they are also referred to are 4 1/8" tall, molded glass. They are ribbed, with 10 panels, hand painted with the same hand painted white enamel and gold leaf stencil pattern as the pitcher. Design is Art Nouveau. The glass is apple green in color, clear with no stains or "dirty' "cloudy" coloring. The set has six (6) matching pattern glasses or tumblers. However, there was sand in the mold. Two of the glasses had sand bubbles and over a period of time the air/sand dissipates and leaves a small surface hole. It did not penetrate the glass completely but there is a roughness and with a sharp eye the small holes can be seen. So that being said FOUR are perfect and two are complimentary included.
We currently have three other sets listed for sale. See photos.
