Biscuit Jar or Barrel American Glass Hand Painted

Biscuit Jar or barrel, American antique glass hand painted, turn of the century. This American jar is frosted glass, circa 1900 - 08, decorated with hand painted flowers in enamel paints. In the USA these are referred to as Cracker or Cookie Jars. Barrel shaped body stands 6 1/2" to the mount. The lid, mount, and swing handle are silver plate as they should be. They were made this way and silver plate does not mean lesser quality. Handle is Art Nouveau styled. There is metal finial lid knob attached to the top via a screw. The lid sits on a lip around the mount. There is some silver plate loss on the lid and mount. See photos. The bottom of the biscuit jar is clear glass. No chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. NO damage. The front of the biscuit jar has hand painted flowers and an opening bud. Flowers and leaves are done in high relief enamel paint. A single bud is hand painted on the backside of the jar. See photos.
