Lusterware covered jar, Japanese luster porcelain perfect for jelly, jam or candy, antique porcelain, Art Nouveau luster. Turn of the century table accessory. Made in Japan.
Jar is 4 1/2" tall overall, porcelain serving ladle is 5", underplate is 5 1/2" diameter, actual jelly bowl is 3 1/2" diameter by 2 3/8" high. This three piece set is complete and comprised of lid, spoon and dish with attached underplate. Porcelain is white background, a blue luster border on underplate and lid. Border is approximately 1/2" and matching on plate and lid. Flower design is Art Nouveau with stylized yellow flowers. Lid finial is flower bud and leaves are in high relief. This color combination in the Art Nouveau pattern is very desirable. Design on the dish is the same on the front and the back featuring the Hoo bird. The design is "black transfer" and then hand painted enhancements. See photos. NO chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs. Backstamp is plum blossom and marked "Made in Japan". The ladle is white porcelain with gold leaf outline on the edges; slight wear at the top of the handle from handling. Condition is excellent. We combine shipping and insurance on all orders
