Handel Leaded Antique Table Lamp
Antique Handel leaded glass table lamp, circa 1904 - 1924, made by the Handel Co. Meriden Connecticut. The base is signed twice, on the foot and also on the base plate, refer to photos. The pattern is stylized irises and leaves; colors are emerald and pale green, yellow background with streaks of honey, red and rosy red flowers. The base of the shade is scalloped edged. The shade is original to the base, The handing brass tag is gone from the shade however the wire loop which held the tag still remains embedded in the leading. The underside is where the tag would have hung. The shade has 324 pieces of leaded glass, all original and the glass is tight. This is NOT a reproduction. There has been no replacement or repairs to the glass, it is 100% original. Four of the smaller pieces of glass has a hairline crack. The lamp is large and heavy; the base is elevated, bronze and retains it's original verde finish. The lamp has three light sockets with original and very important Handel acorn pull chains. The lamp has been rewired with cloth wrap cord and bakelite plug, which is how it was originally done. Height 21" tall, shade diameter is 19", shade height is 7 1/4" tall, base is 7 1/2" square.
