Antique Glass Shades for Hanging Lamp, acid etched balloon shape perfect for for hanging lamp, this is a pair of lamp shades with brass ceiling shade holders. Glass globes were made by and one is clearly marked Anchor Hocking. Circa 1870 - 1900. Shades are 8" tall, 4" diameter flange, the widest part of the balloon is 6" diameter. MINT condition. This is a matched pair. NO cracks or chips. Glass is clean and clear. One shade is very clearly marked Anchor Hocking. The other shade marking is faint. I.J. Collin was the founder of Hocking Glass Co. He also worked for the Phoenix Glass Co. of Monaca, Pa. Collin later bought out the Phoenix Glass Co. These shades were hand blown, there are no seams. The lip/flange is where the hot glass was snapped off and then the lip was ground and polished. Other evidence that these shades were hand blown is slight differences in size and width.
