Eagle Glass Co. Sugar Shaker

Sugar Shaker American Glass made by Eagle Glass & Manufacturing Company of Wellsburg, West Virginia, circa 1900 -1908, shaker is 3 7/8" tall, molded and pressed glass. Sugar shakers are sometimes referred to as muffineer (English term) or sugar sifters. The Eagle Glass Co. specialized in opaque opalware, especially decorated. The hand colored decorative paints lacked durability and due to this fact finding one that retains a reasonable amount of colored red/gold paint is remarkable. A glass collector's criteria in this exceptional condition would be to 'grab it." Shaker has original top with five point star pattern. The shaker is "Grape" pattern with grapes and leaf embossed in the sides which are otherwise smooth. No damage. See photos. One of many we have listed for sale.
