Nautical Box Carved Whale Bone

Super nice box dating from the early 1900’s. A very unique nautical item. Carved Whale Bone in a basket weave design resembling the Nantucket basket styles. On the top of the box is a carved whale. This is quite the little treasure, the box is made in sections, that’s due to the width of the bone. The basket weave is carved with fine detail & the outside of the box has a mellow surface color. The condition is excellent & it measures 3 ½” x 2 ¼”x ¾”. Any nautical should be delighted with this special find as well as the general box collector!
