Partners Desk Carved Mahogany : att To Horner
Only one word describes this partners desk, Stunning! Made of mahogany & carved so elegantly. The carving is so crisp, clean & mellow in the rococo scrolling undulating form. The bold carved lion head mask at the top of the knee & the acanthus leaf flows magnificently down to the incredibly carved paw foot. As I mentioned it is a partners desk & it looks the same on both sides, but only one side is the working desk. The great thing about a partners desk is that it can be centered in a room & beautifully viewed from all angles. The size is 31 ˝” high x 54” wide x 30”deep. The surface patina is very rich & mellow. Everything about this desk is fine & elegant & I attribute this desk to American Cabinet maker R.J. Horner, New York, this is very much the manor of his work. Dating from the 19th Century
