Antique Drawing Pansies Framed Art Signed
Here is a super nice piece of art! It is vintage dating from approx the early 1900’s. The work is exceptional! Now I’m slightly confused as to the medium – I strongly suspect that it was done with some type of wax colored pencil – it isn’t an oil painting and it isn’t a watercolor. Though again I’m not positive – I have never seen anything quite like it. If you are looking at this piece you may know. As you can see the subject matter is of pansies. The detail is superb. The colors are rich, vivid and eye catching yet naturalistic! There is what appears to be French or Austrian writing at the bottom to the right which is in very fine script. It’s housed in an elegant frame that is gold gilded wood with a white interior border having that French Provencal look. Again the picture, the mating and frame appear to me to be vintage early 1900’s. Sight size is 10 5/8 x 8 ¼” and overall in the frame it is 15 ½”x 13”. It is in very nice condition throughout.
