Memorial Addresses delivered in the Senate and House of Representatives, Forty-Ninth Congress, First Session. Published by the Order of Congress. "Joint Resolution to print thirty-one thousand copies of the eulogies on Thomas A. Hendricks, late Vice-President of the United States. Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the U.S....That there be printed of the eulogies delivered in Congress on Thomas A. Hendricks thirty-one thousand copies, of which ten thousand copies shall be foe the use of the Senate, twenty thousand for the use of the House of Representatives, five hundred copies for the use of the Department of State and five hundred copies shall be for the use of Mrs. Eliza E. Hendricks; and the Secretary of the Treasure be and he is hereby directed to have printed a portrait...” Approved, March 13, 1886. The book is hardcover with grey cloth embossed boards and gold embossing. The cover has quite a bit of browning and water staining – edge wear, corners bumped. Black and white drawing of Hendricks as frontispiece with tissue guard. First Edition 168 pgs. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
