Bronze Chandelier Early American Style

Here is a glorious 19th century bronze masterpiece – it is truly one of the most remarkably castings I have ever seen in a chandelier. This six branch chandelier is just as heavy as can be in a very very rich brown bronze patina. The top of the chandelier has an oval ball as you can see with a highly embossed somewhat fleur-de-lis/woven basket design. The arms are graceful and flowing with a beautiful leaf over design attached to the top of the arms and acanthus leaves underneath. It is truly an outrageously handsome and elegant bronze chandelier – suitable for nice English decorating – the library, the den, or the great room – just about any where you can think of. The condition is exceptionally fine and again it is a very heavy chandelier and the patina is rich and lustrous with a little bit of verde oxidation going on in some of the carvings which appears to be the original tinted patina. Overall the chandelier measures 36” in diameter and it is approx. 25” high to the top of the ring (I didn’t measure the chain above that because that can be changed to any height desired).
