Rooster On Marble base Card Holder

Here is a nice early 1900’s desk or table item. A nice piece for the credenza in the receiving hall to display your business cards on or to receive business cards on from your guests. The base of it is all black marble with natural veining of a gold color and some gray veining. The rooster mounting on the marble tray is stamped Austria and is quite decorative. I believe it is bronze and I see remnants of some color which leaves my to believe that it originally it had some touches of color like a cold painted Austrian bronze. I believe the rooster has had some old repair which is not obvious unless you are looking with a jewelers loop. It is a very nice attractive piece with a rooster in monumental feather detail. Quite the heavy piece measuring 13 1/8”l x 8 1/8”w and it measures to the top of the roosters head almost 6”.
