Antique Miniature Childs Chair with Carved Ship on Back
What a lovely little child’s chair completely hand carved with a truly unique style. The solidly carved back has a carving of a galleon ship. It has a woven rush type of seat and it is in very good condition. The carving goes all the way down on the front and sides of the legs. The back as you can see has a very nice shape. This chair is accompanied by a yellowing magazine page with a picture of a very similar chair saying that this chair is sitting in the interior of a house on the island of Skyros. A little fabulous Greek furniture item and this little document will accompany the chair as well. It measures only 27” high from floor to top of finial, 12 5/8” w x 13”deep – seat height is 14”. Once again this is a wonderful little chair with a rich and spectacular surface patina. It would look just heavenly sitting beside the fireplace.
