Dog Head Portraits Carved Walnut ,Hunting Dogs ,Glass Eyes Wall Plaques

My wonderful matching pair of hand carved walnut dog portrait heads. Yes hand carved of the most beautiful walnut .The facial features are life like ,for a hound dog with high quality glass eyes. The surface patina is nice & mellow with remnants of paint or gesso in the carvings, There is every possibility that this pair of hound dog heads was originally or subsequently painted ,This is the way that I bought them over thirty years ago .These are a nice size being 8” Long x 7” wide & out from the wall 7”.I have these in my great room stacked one above the other between two windows in a very wild life animal oriented ,naturalistic room. This pair dates from the 1870’s.This pair of carvings in my opinion is quite an exciting find & an excellent investment opportunity.
