Native American Doll

Purchased at an estate sale, this 5 inch little Native American baby was hanging on a wall in the sewing room. A tape measure was hanging from the bottom holder and the body was filled with pins. I removed the pins. You can see the pin holes in the picture. The daughter of the lady having the sale said her mother had purchased it in 1950 while they were vacationing in Arizona. This was obviously made for the tourist trade. The baby is wrapped in what looks and feels like wool felt and the pink has a gauzy satin appearance. The doll has a cloth tie on the back and that was used to hang it up. I don't know if this doll was made to be used as a pin cushion or had another purpose. Either way he really is a darling little doll to own and display.
