This is one very fine vintage 1930's powder jar. The jar measures as follows: Top of the jar without the lid cross section: 3.5". Bottom of the jar: 4.5". Middle cross section: 4.5" Lid cross section top: 4" Lid cross section bottom: 3.5". The Jar's height: 2" This jar is very solid piece of beautiful cut clear glass with thickness measured from the top about 4 mm.
The lid has fine gentle petit point embroidery presenting two soft pink roses and beautifully contrasting blue flowers made in several nuances of the blue. The green leaves are also made in two nuances of the green, and I can say that the maker of this lid kept eye on the smallest details that makes this embroidery a piece of art. The colours are perfectly preserved.
The lid embroidery is framed as a picture with beautiful engraved floral designed brass and is protected from the top with transparent celluloid and from the bottom with gold coloured celluloid that blends with the brass. The lid lays on the top of the jar smoothly. The jar is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks.
